22.I.2004 :::: 19.04

minor updates:

  • reading white noise: it is the first delillo i have read & i am quite enjoying the way he writes dialogue. if i could write dialogue like that, maybe i would write up some plays. but probably the schtick would get old after only one, & probably people would call me on it anyway, saying i was just ripping off delillo.
    sidenote: remember when i decided to try to speak more like how i write? i think it would be kind of like that. i.e., boring & overdone.

  • in anatomy we have started the cat dissection. our table's cat is female & orange & we have named her moe. i am (distressingly) intrigued by the sound of skin separating from supermuscular fascia. also the feel of the skull, also the absolute delicateness of the serratus anterior muscles (note cautious avoidance of use of the word "delicacy" which evokes creepy animal bits eaten only in specific, alien cultures), also the texture of the tongue which sticks out slightly.

  • thanks to a conversation with my brother about "futuristic" musical instruments, & the winding tangents of that conversation, i now wish to immerse myself in la nouvelle vague.

  • which brings me to one of my favorite things ever, the future epigram of my not-likely-ever-to-be-made film:
    All you need to make a movie is a girl and a gun.
