have i told you yet that microbiology is all magic?
i don't get it. i think the physics of the very small is super, is fascinating, is downright sexy. but i can't bring myself to care about teensy living things. they just seem magic & not in an intriguing way, more like in a better-left-alone kind of way. a ruin-the-magic-if-you-know-too-much kind of way.
also, how do people know these things! i have a suspicion they are just sitting around in their offices, which probably smell bad from all the growing cultures, reading 1960s futuristic comic books, drawing "bacteria" in the margins & calling it science.
