19.II.2004 :::: 16.59

someone has been eating raisins in the computer lab. outside it is like spring, except it is like ohio spring id est slightly warm, & grey.

i hope i am not becoming midwestern. i am certainly risking it, spending nearly a third of my life here.

jonathan writes me & says he hopes he does not feel like j.alfred prufrock when he is old. i told him, "you would dare to eat a peach."

then i wrote:
rock+roll = daring to each a peach

later tonight i have a lab practical in anatomy & my eyes/head are stuffed full of photographs of dissections with little lines out to the side saying things like, "extensor retinaculum" & "medial malleosus" & "glenoid fossa of the scapula." & "xiphihumeralis" for which there is no homolog in the human.

i would rather just go home & finish putting the picture books on the shelves (we got shelves!) & curl up & write some letters.
